CHW Consulting is Australia’s largest independent AV & ICT technology consultant. Since 2003, CHW has completed over 800 major projects across Australia, representing more than $150 million in technology consulting contracts.
We strive to make technology better and easier to use by providing innovative design solutions across a wide range of sectors. Our core business revolves around the design and integration of information technology, communications, and audio-visual services onto a single shared framework.
Some of our key clients include Melbourne University, Monash University, Lend Lease, Plenary Group, DCWC, Brookfield Multiplex, Monash Health, and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
As a CHW Consultant, you’ll work autonomously on projects from their inception through to commissioning and handover. On projects you’re across, you’ll have access to a breadth of resources, from in-house drafting to documentation preparation via your team of project assistants and engineers.
As a consultant, you’ll work directly with clients, architects, service engineers, and other stakeholders in collaboration with other senior members of the CHW Consulting team.
You’ll also have the opportunity to improve your business acumen through ongoing business development training which will see you gain the skill to influence and drive new business with clients.
Finally, to maintain our status as an industry leader, we invest heavily in training our consulting team. As such, you’ll have the opportunity to travel to global technology conferences to stay abreast of the latest industry developments.
As a Graduate Engineer, you’ll be working closely with our Consulting team as they work on projects. Your day-to-day may consist of:
– Conducting site audits
– Liaising with vendors
– Completing engineering designs
– Preparing drawings for consultants
– Preparing documentation of reports or specifications
– Participating in site meetings
– Testing completed systems we’ve designed
Again, the key for us is your ongoing development and, as your capabilities grow, so too will your involvement in projects and how you work with consultants and their clients.
What you need to be successful in the role
Graduate Engineers require:
1. Qualifications in the Electrical, Information Technology, Computer Systems, or Communications Engineering field.
2. Genuine interest in audio visual, IT, or communications systems theories and technologies.
3. Written and oral communication skills and effective customer liaison skills.
Where we work
CHW’s Head Office in Melbourne has been recently refurbished providing our team with a bright and open working environment.
Equipped with our own testing centre, our Consultants have the capability to test the latest AV technology within the office. Our building also contains showers, a kitchen, state of the art meeting rooms, and a number of breakout spaces for a more relaxed working environment.
The new spaces are right next to The Roasting Warehouse and we’re within an easy walk of great cafes and restaurants on Errol Street and the Queen Victoria Market. The location lets our team take advantage of North Melbourne while maintaining easy access to the CBD.
