CHW Consulting was engaged to design a regional hospital ICT system for Echuca Regional Hospital. The hospital provides a range of services including acute, emergency, primary care, aged care, and community health to an estimated 45,000 people. Founded in 1882, the upgrade of the hospital was requested by the broader Echuca community.
With the first stage of the project cost at $65 million, CHW Consulting was contacted to submit a proposal for the regional hospital ICT user and design requirements. Our objective was to design an ICT system which would deliver 21st-century functionality, and remain relevant well into the future.
We delivered voice, data, wireless, and clinical ICT system over a single converged platform, along with meeting the function requirements of the ERH. Including, the VoIP infrastructure scope based on user requirements, outlining the associated security and redundancy requirements for the commercial grade LAN, and specifying the requirements for the Computer Data Centre.
This redevelopment has created 70% more hospital beds, and an expanded emergency department. CHW is proud to support the redevelopment, ensuring all this additional patient real estate had the technology necessary to guarantee the wellbeing of patients and hospital staff.
