In 2015 CHW Consulting was engaged as the AV and ICT technology consultants for the expansion of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
MCEC already attracts more than 1000 events and 1.5 million visitors each year, this expansion project would see the MCEC develop into a fully integrated, world-leading facility.
With the ICT and AV technology playing an integral role in creating a memorable experience for its customers, we understood that the design of AV and ICT systems needed to exceed expectations and deliver industry leading service.
As a result our design will:
- Integrate the MCEC with its surrounding urban environment, and engage its community to promote activity, social interaction and economic benefit to the precinct and to Melbourne;
- Maximise functionality and flexibility to accommodate simultaneous events for a wide range of customers with all spaces designed to be multi-use; and
- Reflect the MCEC’s existing commitment to sustainability and six star green star environmental rating, by using everything from sustainable building materials to environmental initiatives.
Having previously been involved in a number of projects for Plenary Group and the MCEC as design consultants and technical advisors, CHW has an in-depth understanding of the existing AV and ICT technologies currently employed at the facility, enabling us to provide expert technical advice, efficient design & documentation services, and a proficient project management process during the implementation phase.
