Back in 2012 the Victorian Government recognised the existing Monash Children’s Hospital needed to reside in a stand-alone facility. This was determined after the Monash Children’s was shown to service nearly 85% as many patients as the Royal Children’s.
With a history of hospital ICT and AV design and delivery, CHW Consulting was engaged to work on the three core technology work packages in either a design or coordination position.
The ICT package was divided into separate work packages which meant coordinating with the design team to determine the final requirements prior to commencing construction.
CHW was responsible for the ICT system that the Monash Children’s was required to deliver, including the AV systems for ORs, RFID & Asset tracking, Video Conferencing, Fixed telephony, Messaging integration, all computer and data centres, Wireless networking equipment, touch screen and journey boards, and LAN networks.
Finally, Monash Health designed and procured the PC’s, printers, PES, Enterprise Storage, and VD infrastructure. CHW, along with Lend Lease, were responsible for managing and coordinating the integration works between the various systems. This involved running workshops with key stakeholders to confirm the requirements for the systems, along with documenting and managing the implementation and integration with the overall ICT program.
With the project set to complete in 2017, we’re confident that our extensive experience will provide sufficient support to deliver an ICT and AV system in alignment with the requirements of stakeholder and user groups.
