In 2015, CHW consulting commenced work for the Media Precinct RMIT TV Studio project for RMIT University. The work involved specialist consultancy services in regards to broadcasting and audiovisual technology.
Being the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), a world leader in technology, art, and design; RMIT places a substantial focus on providing cutting edge AV and ICT technology to their students.
CHW was contacted to assist RMIT develop a design strategy for the new Media Precinct RMIT TV studio, as part of the New Academic Street project (Buildings 8, 10, 12 and 14, Swanston Street).
The new Media Precinct TV studios will be fitted with the latest broadcast technology, enabling a new level of industry engagement for students, community stakeholders and alumni. Housing two studios, two control rooms, a prop-store and green room, as well as a technician space, the studios have been designed in alignment with industry standards and best practice.
Although used primarily by RMIT’s School of Media and Communication, the studios also includes the RMITV production house, which broadcasts content through Victoria’s community television service, Channel 31.
We’re excited to be involved in the development of RMIT’s new studies and it’s an opportunity for CHW to showcase our ability to design specialist technical spaces.
